These are the sizes that come through most often, and they suit the majority of adult and youth blanks.
Adult full front
11 to 12 in wide
Sits across the chest without crowding the side seams on a medium or large.
Adult full back
11 to 14 in wide
The widest placement on a t-shirt. Go to 14 inches on 2XL and up.
Left chest
3.5 to 4 in wide
Small logos, monograms and names. The most common placement we print.
Sleeve
2.5 to 3.5 in wide
Runs down the sleeve rather than across it on short sleeve blanks.
Youth full front
7 to 9 in wide
Scales with age. Nine inches suits youth large, seven suits youth small.
Toddler front
5 to 6 in wide
Anything wider starts to wrap around the side of the body.
Tote bag
8 to 10 in wide
Centered, with the top of the design about four inches down from the seam.
Cap front
4 to 5 in wide, 2 to 2.5 in tall
Needs a cap press to reach the curve and the seam.
Where the Print Sits on the Garment
Lay the shirt flat and measure down from the collar seam rather than from the shoulder. Collars vary by brand, and measuring from the seam keeps a run of shirts consistent.

Top of the design 2.5 to 3 inches down from the collar seam.

How Print Sizes Fit on a Gang Sheet
Sheets print 22.25 inches wide and run as long as you need them. Two adult front prints sit side by side across that width with room for a gap between them.
Small designs fill the space around the big ones, which is where a gang sheet earns its money. Left chest logos and sleeve prints slot into the strips a full front leaves behind.

Common Questions About DTF Transfer Sizes
Can I mix different sizes on one gang sheet?
Yes, and mixing is where the saving comes from. Full fronts, left chests and sleeve prints all sit on the same sheet at whatever sizes you set. Small designs fill the gaps around larger ones, so very little of the sheet goes to waste.
What size should a DTF transfer be for an adult t-shirt?
Eleven to twelve inches wide for a full front print on a medium or large. Go to fourteen inches on a full back or on 2XL and above. Anything wider than twelve inches on a small starts to run into the side seams once the shirt is on.
What size is a left chest print?
